How do I start Service?
All it takes is a phone call. In most cases, everything can be done over the phone; however, if you want we can come to your property for a free consultation. Sometimes, this is best so we can be introduced to your dog or dogs. It also gives us a chance to meet you so we can understand exactly what you expect of our service.

Is The Dog Porter insured?
Yes! We are insured through "Pet Sitters Associates, LLC". We are also a member of "aPaws" (Association of Professional Animal Waste Specialists).

Do I need to sign a contract?
No! You can start service or stop service at anytime. All we need is a phone call.

How do you protect us from dog waste germs being transmitted from another person's property?
We clean and sanitize our tools and footwear with veterinarian approved disinfectant between each customer's yard.

What about One-Time service?
One-Time or short term service can be arranged. One-time spring clean up is popular with some customers.

What if I want to skip service such as when go on vacation?
Just let us know if you or your dog(s) will be gone. We will resume service again as soon as you request it.

What if something causes you to miss me for service such as bad weather?
We will get back to you yard as soon as possible if we miss service for any reason. If we miss the whole week, you won't be charged for that week, and you won't be charged extra when we do get back to service your yard.

Do you work year around?
Yes! However, with Michigan's winters, we might have to suspend service for short periods of time because of snow. We will continue your service as soon as we can without any extra charge to you.

Do I need to be home during a service visit?
No! As long as it is safe to enter your property. If you have a locked gate, we will make arrangements with you so we can perform service. We will make sure the gate is secured when we leave. A notice will be left on your door showing that we were at your property.

Can you service my yard when my dog(s) are in the yard?
Yes! As long as your dog(s) are not aggressive. If you think it would be a problem with your dog(s) while a stranger is in your yard, we ask that you keep them in the house or in their pen. Arrangements can be made to make sure your property is serviced.

What do you do with the dog waste?
We deodorize and double bag it. We then put it in where you tell us so it can be put out with your regular garbage. If you want, we will take it with us for a 25% surcharge added to your bill.

How do I pay you for your service?
Regular on-going customers will be sent an invoice at the end of each month. One-Time service customers will be asked to pay upon completion of the service.

What do you mean by "Satisfaction Guaranteed"?
If there is ever a time when our service is not performed completely satisfactory to your expectations, will will come back and make it right without any extra charge to you.
